Best year of my entire life.

My friend Christine has amazing friends. I went over to her house last night for dinner, and then out to this surprise party her friends threw for her. I went to elementary school with her, and we have stayed extremely close, even though we go to different schools and have our own friends. All her friends left, and it somehow became my responsibility to get her to her surprise party. We blindfolded her and put her in my truck and the two of us drove downtown. I had to walk down the streets of downtown Seattle guiding my blindfolded best friend, I'm sure people laughed at us. I would have, it was so hilarious. Her friends rented out a hotel room, filled it with 30 of her friends and had a hotel party at the Warwick (such an amazing view of the Space Needle). We all got extremely wasted. I slept in a two person bed with four people, I haven't done that since France. This morning I had to wake up at 8 am and run to my car so it wouldn't be towed. I drove home and slept for an hour before I had to go babysitting at 10am, I'm so tired now.

I also chopped off my hair yesterday. I've had it long since I was a little girl, now its just barely touching my shoulders. It was really time for a change. I love it.

Tonight I played dominoes for five hours, watched the Packers loose to the Bears, ate lots and lots and lots of food, watched "A Christmas Story" twice, and played with all the cool things I got for Christmas (a dock for my ipod!).

I lost my cell phone yesterday. What the fuck is it with me and the eve of holidays?? The night before Thanksgiving I crashed my car, the night before Christmas I lost my cellphone. It wasn't even my fault this time, the cell phone disappeared while I was buying my dad's Christmas present (David Sedaris' newest book). Maybe it was stolen, but who would steal a cell phone on christmas eve? Who is that cold hearted?

Now its 12:41 and its time for bed.

I had to live away from my family and best friends last year and I survived, and now I have to live without my best friends in France. It hurts to be away from them, but I can survive on my own.

i was taking out the garbage at work-- we had a ton, the can was piled high and i had another bag i was carrying. It was pouring down rain. I walked out to the garbage and the can fell over and garbage poured all over the wet parking lot. I had to pick it all up, then I took one step forward and my foot went in a puddle that was as deep as my ankle.

The math is nothing to brag about, but the French and Literature? I'm a genius. (But we already knew that)

Sometimes life just sucks and then, by some magical, mysterious means everything straightens itself out.

I've been having the most fucked up week. I got a shit role in the school play (and I'm used to ALWAYS getting to play whoever I want) my computer broke, I wasn't invited to this party my friends are all going to... and assorted other things.

Yesterday I got home, all depressed, and then I saw this box from fnac.com with Les Poupées Russes and L'Auberge Espagnol in it! I ran downstairs and put one in my DVD player... I fixed it so it should work with all zones of DVDs. And it did work, but the color was grayish and blurry. Like I said before, my computer had broken (actually, the disc drive died) so I couldn't try them with it. Sooo i was depressed again.

THEN at 5pm, my mom came home, and with her was Tannia! I had COMPLETELY forgotten that she was coming last night. Tannia is the daughter of my neighbor/choir teacher in France (Monique et Gérard). Tannia lives in Montana, and she is going home to Annecy for Christmas. She had to spend the night in Seattle on her way home, so she stayed with my family. Seeing her put me in such an amazing mood. After dinner I drove Tannia to Capitol Hill to meet a friend of hers. Her friend was named Shaleeen (oui, avec trois e... sa mere était défoncé). This girl was amazing... so sweet and funny, they told all these great stories about working on ski lifts in Montana. I've only met Tannia twice, so it was good to get to know her too. When we got home Tannia and I watched les Poupées Russes on her laptop. I laughed so much and missed France so much and wanted to be in Paris so badly.

I understand something now that I didn't know before... the reason why I've been kinda sad/depressed recently is because I miss meeting new people. Last year I met new people everyday, and I was constantly making friends. Everyday I woke up and knew that I'd meet somebody new, it was exciting to think that maybe that day would be the day I made my best friend. Now I see the same fucking people everyday, I have the same friends as I did before I was in France (and I love them, but...) I have changed and I need to meet some new people. I just have no fucking clue where to meet them, I know everyone at my school.

This morning my friend Chloe and I went to Seattle University to interview kids who want to be exchange students next year. It was crazy for us to see all these kids about to go away... they have no idea whats going to happen to them. It made us both so jealous. I'd do anything to be able to go abroad again, I miss it so much! Chloe and I both whined for hours afterwards about how badly we want to go travel (if only we had money). All the kids that were at the interviews were really great, they are going to do well, I'm sure. I also talked to their parents for awhile and answered questions.

Later we walked around Broadway and went to all the amazing shops and tried on old clothes. Then I had Dick's for lunch! I can't believe I haven't eaten at Dick's in over a year. I love Seattle on days like today.

Il a neigé hier!!

We were at school and it started snowing, big, fluffy flakes. And it didn't stop. I went to work in the bakery and watched the snow... Its nice to be in a warm bakery when its freezing outside. Everyone in my city gets so excited when there is snow, we all turn into little kids. The second it started snowing at school I ran outside with a bunch of kids in my grade and started jumping up and down. On the radio stations they played "let it snow!" and everyone smiled and chatted about the weather-even with random strangers. Snow in Seattle is a bonding experience! Of course, the dream in the heads of all us children was that we'd have a snowday today... but I woke up, and the snow was gone, none at all stuck on the streets.

Its the weekend now, and tomorrow I'm taking the SAT IIs- in French, Math I, and Literature. Its gonna be a rough morning.

BUT THEN Emilien comes tomorrow night, as soon as he arrives I'm going to grab him and bring him to my school's Winter Ball. I'm so excited to see him!
